  • Directions From Nearest Airport: Exeter, Bristol, & London Heathrow Airports, 27, 43 & 133 miles

    EXETER: Take the A30 north towards Honiton. Pass Honiton and continue on to A303 (Ilminster signs). Turn left at Eagle Cross (to Taunton) by Eagle Tavern. After 2-3 miles turn right (to Staple Fitzpaine). Towards bottom of hill turn right opposite Staple Fitzpaine village sign, signposted Curland. Summerleaze is a half mile on the left.
    BRISTOL: Take A38 & A370 to M5, go south. At J25, take A358 to Chard. Turn right at Bickenhall Lane. Turn left. After Neroche Parish Hall (on right), turn left to Curland. Go past telephone box & village green, 200 yards further on right is Summerleaze.
    HEATHROW: take M3, A303 southwest. At Southfields Rbt., take 4th exit, A358 to Chard. After sharp left bend, right to Horton. At 5 Dials pub, 2nd right. At T-junction, left, sign-posted Curland. Go past telephone box & village green, 200 yards further on right is Summerleaze.

  • Directions From Nearest Ferry Port: Plymouth, Southampton & Dover, 74, 88 & 216 miles

    PLYMOUTH: head for the A38 north to Exeter. Continue onto M5, exit at J29 onto Honition Rd/A30. Continue on A303. Turn left at Eagle Cross (to Taunton) by Eagle Tavern. After 2-3 miles turn right (to Staple Fitzpaine). Towards bottom of hill turn right opposite Staple Fitzpaine village sign, signposted Curland. Summerleaze is a half mile on the left.
    SOUTHAMPTON: take M271/M27 to London/Salisbury. Exit J2, take A36 to Salisbury, continue on A36 to A303, turn left, southwest. At Southfields Rbt., take 4th exit, A358 to Chard. After sharp left bend, right to Horton. At 5 Dials pub, 2nd right. At T-junction, left, sign-posted Curland. Go past telephone box & village green, 200 yards further on right is Summerleaze.
    DOVER: take M20 to London. At exit 3, go onto M26 towards M25 west. At J12, exit to M3. At J8 take A303 to Andover. At Southfields Rbt., take 4th exit, A358 to Chard. After sharp left bend, right to Horton. At 5 Dials pub, 2nd right. At T-junction, left, sign-posted Curland. Go past telephone box & village green, 200 yards further on right is Summerleaze.

  • Directions From Nearest Train Station: Taunton station, 7 miles

    Taunton can be reached via fast trains from London Paddington & Bristol. Taxis are available at the station. If you drive:
    Left out of station, right on Kingston Rd,, right again St Andrews Rd., continue on A358. 3rd exit at roundabout/Obridge Viaduct. Straight over next roundabout/Crithchard Way. Right at lights, stay to right thro next lights/Lisieux Way. 2nd exit roundabout/Chestnut Drive. Left at t-junction, over motorway, 1st left/Lisieux. Through Staple Fitzpaine, up hill, 1st left, Summerleaze is half mile on the left.

  • Directions From Nearest City: Bristol, 49 miles

    Head south on M5. Take J25 exit/Taunton. 1st left off ramp, A358 to Chard. Thru Henlade, to end of dual carriageway, thru traffic lights (junction with A378). 2 miles after, take BIckenhall Lane on right,to Bickenhall, Staple Fitzpaine. After 1 mile, turn left at T-junction. Go past Neroche parish hall (on right - 1/2 mile), turn left to Curland. Go thru village, keeping telephone box on left, village on right. Go past both up the hill for about 100m. Summerleaze is the 2nd on the right.
